On February 21, 2015, DHRMA celebrates its 20^th anniversary!!!  We have a great meeting planned for February 26 to celebrate 20 years of DHRMA.  We have a founding member that will speak along with great food by The Grapevine.  Be prepared to learn how things have changed through the years within DHRMA, MS SHRM and the Human Resources profession.

We have a great meeting planned for July 18th! Spencer Ritchie with Watkins & Eager will give a presentation on Social Media.  Employees of all ages are increasingly participating in social media, whether it be Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. Social media can affect nearly every aspect of the employment relationship, such as hiring, employee misconduct, investigations, and protecting your company's reputation and confidential information.

We have a double header planned for our May 23^rd meeting. First, representatives from the ESGR will give us a brief update on the Hire our Heroes campaign that was started by Gov. Bryant, as well as some Do’s and Don’ts for employers who hire veterans and the support programs that are out there. Following that, we will have a presentation from Kendall Cox, who is Co-Director of Every Mother, Inc.  If you have a new or young mother in your workplace, you won’t want to miss her presentation.

We have a great meeting planned for March! Pepper Crutcher, Attorney with Balch & Bingham, will be giving a presentation on the “Top Ten Employer Affordable Care Act Compliance Strategies.” This is probably one of the hottest topics right now and you won’t want to miss the opportunity to ask an Attorney how your company can best be prepared for all of the regulations that are in effect, as well as the ones that will take effect January 1, 2014.
